The origins of communication theory is linked to the development of information theory in the early 1920s. Limited information-theoretic ideas had been developed at Bell Labs, all implicitly assuming events of equal probability. The fundamental problem of communication is that of reproducing at one point either exactly orapproximately a message selected at another point. Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT) is committed to becoming an excellent universityin the global field of information. As a leading university in China, BUPT expects to develop the best abilities of students. Comprehensive Experiment of Communication for graduate student was set up in 2003 and continued 13 years.Every spring semester, about 20 to 200 people select this course. We have experienced the following three stages in promoting teaching reform and improving teaching quality.

1.    Actively explore and create an independent curriculum system.

2.    Pooling resources and building a high level of teaching platform.

3.    Innovation continuously to improve the quality of teaching.

The course group has taken an active part in all kinds of academic exchanges. We have established a good bridge to communication with counterparts at home and abroad. The course group has achieved fruitful and leading teaching achievements. The teaching experience of the course group has been popularized and applied in many colleges and universities in China.
